This week, my family started watching the show Friday Night Lights on Netflix and I must say that it is such a great show!! :) It definitely brings me back to my life in Carlsbad.
I lived in Carlsbad when I was younger and the high school was a big part of my life. My mom was the yearbook teacher there and my brother was the quarterback of the football team. He was the hot shot of the town. It seemed like everyone knew the name Gilbert Burton. Watching Friday Night Lights brought me back to Carlsbad because it was like I was living there again when I watched it. The whole town would shut down on Fridays and EVERYONE would be at the game that evening. It was the life in a way.
The one part of the show that sent flashbacks into my mind was when the quarterback of the Panthers gets very hurt in the first episode. I remember sitting at a game and seeing my brother on the field with a shoulder injury. My parents had to go down to the sidelines and follow the ambulance to the hospital. When I was watching the episode it was like I was sitting in the stands watching my brother on the field.
It was a good time in the small time of Carlsbad and it is fun to watch the series and think about how my life used to be so similar. :)

Pondering
Hey y'all.
I hope your summers are kicking off to a good start and that you are enjoying some time to relax. A lot has been going on around here :)
First, I started volunteering with United Blood Services and it is a blast. I make copies and do a ton of office work but I am hoping this opportunity will open so many doors and help me get into medical school in the future. BE A HERO and GIVE BLOOD :) I would if I could; believe me!
I think this guy is pretty funny :)
Next, I have been hanging out with my Little through Big Brothers Big Sisters and it is so amazing but tough at the same time! She is such a sweet little girl, age 9, but she comes from a family full of drinking and less fortunate when it comes to money. She does not get the chance the do many things that I do on a regular basis, like go out to lunch or dinner with her family. It breaks my heart when she tells me stories about her life but it also opens my eyes to see what God wants me to do in her life and how He wants me to help her. It is so rewarding and I look forward to hanging out with her more. In fact, this Thursday we are going to take a trip to play with some animals at PetSmart and learn things about them. And then, the next time we are trying to arrange a basketball game with some of her friends and mine. Last week, we went to play basketball and she kept begging me to play a game with her but it is kind of hard to do so when it is just the two of you, so I promised her I would ask some of my friends if she would asks some of hers and we would get a group to play a real game :) She seems really excited... It was all she could talk about for a while.
In addition to volunteering a ton, I have been hanging out with some dear friends of mine and we have been having the time of our lives.
Last Sunday, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Bobby, and I went to the Gabriel Iglesias comedy show and, oh my goodness, I don't think I have laughed that hard in a very very long time! There were some great jokes and I loved spending some time with my dear friends!! :)
a yummy potato dish,
and a fruit pizza :)
It was all so fun to make and so good to eat! :) Thank you Pinterest for leading me to these recipes!

I was Kaitlyn's date :)
Finally, Kelley, Kaitlyn, and I had a night of cooking some delicious food tonight and I don't want to brag but all of it was pretty darn tasty!! :)
We made Cucumber Boats,
and a fruit pizza :)
It was all so fun to make and so good to eat! :) Thank you Pinterest for leading me to these recipes!
*****
I need some advice.
There is this guy that I kind of like and he is such a great guy. A Christian, nice, caring, and super cute but I don't know how he feels about me. We have been chatting for the last couple of days and I kind of feel something there but I am really nervous to try and pursue a relationship. For now I think I will just act casual and not portray and feelings towards him. Good idea? Maybe, and Lord willing, we can see where this friendship will go and see if God wants us to be together :)
Well I must go to bed.
Goodnight all

Summertime!!! :)
As of 8:30am this morning, it is summer! I have completed my first year of college and it is a great feeling. :) So much has happened this year, and I thank God for every moment of it. I fell in and out of "love" and I met some of the greatest friends I could ever ask for (Kaitlyn and Bailey). I found out what I want to major in and what my dream career would be; I am majoring in Biology, minoring in Chemistry, and praying I can get into medical school to work in Oncology! :) I am so excited to see what God has in store for me in the next years of college.
Now to what has been happening recently... Well, it isn't much.
Isotopes Game
Last Wednesday, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Bobby, and I went to the Isotopes game to see them play the Oklahoma City Redhawks. It was such a fun game :)
"Roadtrip" to NMT
On Tuesday, we took a mini roadtrip to Socorro to sell back my books. It was such a fun drive, even if it was only an hour. I was able to sell by books back for about $140 which was a good amount to help with books for next semester. After I sold my books back, we took a walk around campus and while sitting on my car and having a snack, my ex boyfriend walked by. We talked to Patrick for awhile and Carolyn came up to join us. It was a lot of fun having the day to reconnect with Carolyn and hang out with Bailey and Kaitlyn! After the drive back, we all came back to my house and studied while watching Sweet Home Alabama and eating pizza! So much fun! :)
In two days, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Bobby, and I are all going to see Gabriel Iglesias and I am so excited to have a night full of laughter! :)
Life is going great!! I cannot complain! It is summer time and I get to look forward to a trip to Houston and Chicago! :)
