Thankful For Many Things!

So this weekend was Thanksgiving weekend and, my goodness, it was nice to have 5 days to be home with my family and friends! :)

On Wednesday night I got to spend some time helping my aunt after her surgery and I am so happy that she is doing well! Almost recovered but still going back to work tomorrow... She is so strong. 

Thanksgiving was on Thursday and I got to spend it with some amazing people... my mom, aunt, and my "second family" so to speak... The Mangums! We got to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (a standing tradition in my family), eat some amazing food, play games, put up Christmas decorations, laugh, watch movies, and fall asleep during the middle of the movie (like Caleb and I have done a lot recently haha).

After the Thanksgiving madness was over, Caleb, Dana, and I painted my room! It looks so pretty. My mom's one condition about me moving back home was that I had to paint my room so I did :) One wall is a dark brown (makes me crave chocolate every time I'm in my room which is not really a good thing) and the other 3 are a sky blue color! I love it. Thank you Caleb and Dana for your help!

After the painting was done, it was time to hang some decorations :) Here is the final look! (without the desk that I am hoping to get soon).

Other good news... Getting my job back at Dion's is going to be really easy! They are in desperate need of reg people and guess what I am! 

Unfortunately for now, it's back to Socorro tomorrow morning :( Only 3 more week and then I'm back home for good! :)

So as I was cleaning out my closet today I found my portfolio from my Creative Writing class that I took my junior year of high school and thought I would share a little piece that I wrote with y'all. Let me know what you think! :)

I don't want to be the girl you are ashamed of

I don't want to be the loser girlfriend who I sometimes am
I don't want to be a failure in your eyes ---
I don't want to say to goodbye to the one I love the most
I don't want to be the end, the cruel girlfriend you once had
But I want to be me!

I want to be the girl you point at and say "That's her"
I want to be the perfect one, the one you love with all your heart
I want to be a success and not some waste of time
I want to be the love of you life and make you truly happy ---
I want to be the beautiful one you hold in your arms
I want to be yours forever more
I want to say, "I love you," and have you know I truly mean it
But that just isn't me!

So?

Well it's off to bed. 5:30 a.m. is going to come way before I'm ready!
